Business Development Manager

London, UK Full-time

Heronic's purpose is to architect an efficient future for computing through automated, bespoke design. One-size-fits-all GPU/NPU accelerator architectures woefully underutilise available compute; at Heronic we turn the design paradigm on its head, creating specialised architectures that reach near 100% occupancy. With state-of-the-art designs that are outperforming Nvidia and backing from VCs and Angels including the co-founder of Arm who are active investors in the semiconductor industry, we have the right support, team and technology to deliver the most efficient, competitive AI accelerator architectures ever.

We are looking for an energetic business development professional to drive the commercial growth of Heronic's AI accelerator IP. You will take ownership of the full sales cycle, from uncovering and qualifying new leads through to closing licensing deals, while building lasting relationships with customers and partners across the semiconductor ecosystem. You should be a self-starter who is happiest hunting down new opportunities, but equally willing to roll up your sleeves and work closely with the rest of the team to get a deal over the line. This role could be an ideal next step for an FAE looking to move into a more commercially focused position, and offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time leadership role as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities for Heronic's IP and tooling.
  • Own the sales pipeline end-to-end, from first contact through to a signed licensing agreement.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and partners.
  • Represent Heronic at trade shows, industry events and customer visits.
  • Engage in detailed technical discussions with customers, working with the engineering team to map the product to customer requirements.
  • Feed customer and market insights back into the product roadmap.
  • Keep the CRM up to date and report on pipeline progress.

Experience:

  • Experience in sales or business development for FPGA and/or semiconductor IP.
  • Spent time in a customer-facing technical role i.e. FAE.
  • Technical background, able to handle detailed technical discussions around the product.
  • A track record of finding, progressing and closing deals with long, technical sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor IP commercial models (licence fees, royalties, NRE).
  • An existing network of relevant contacts in the semiconductor industry is a plus.

Who You Are:

  • Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Energetic, persistent and resilient.
  • A hunter: happiest when uncovering and driving new business opportunities.
  • A self-starter, able to find and pursue your own leads.
  • A completer/finisher, willing to work across the business to get a deal done.
  • Willing to travel and also comfortable maintaining relationships and progressing opportunities via remote means.
  • Strong communicator who can work across teams.
  • Excited to share knowledge and experience with others.
  • Curious beyond your discipline, interested in other aspects of the business.
