Senior Verification Engineer

London, UK Full-time

Heronic's purpose is to architect an efficient future for computing through automated, bespoke design. One-size-fits-all GPU/NPU accelerator architectures woefully underutilise available compute; at Heronic we turn the design paradigm on its head, creating specialised architectures that reach near 100% occupancy. With state-of-the-art designs that are outperforming Nvidia and backing from VCs and Angels including the co-founder of Arm who are active investors in the semiconductor industry, we have the right support, team and technology to deliver the most efficient, competitive AI accelerator architectures ever.

We are looking for an experienced verification engineer to provide a critical eye for our accelerator architectures. You will lead our verification strategy, ensuring the robustness and quality of our designs. You will be responsible for not only implementing effective testbenches and pipelines but also for communicating your findings and insights to the wider team to drive continuous improvement. We need someone who can take ownership of the verification process and ensure our high standards are met at every stage of the design lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining our verification strategy.
  • Design testbenches and end-to-end verification pipelines.
  • Keeping track of coverage and quality of designs.
  • Contribute to the architecture roadmap.
  • Facilitate collaboration between hardware and software teams.

Experience:

  • Prior experience developing verification plans.
  • Experience with AXI protocols.
  • Familiar with open-source verification tools (Cocotb, Verilator) as well as commercial EDA tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Tcl) for automation.
  • Familiar with CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with transaction-level modelling (UVM).
  • Comfortable with version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding of formal verification concepts is a plus.

Who You Are:

  • Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Willing to adapt to unfamiliar design paradigms.
  • Strong communicator who can work across teams.
  • Excited to share knowledge and experience with others.
  • Curious beyond your discipline, interested in other aspects of the business.
